BOKAMOSO EVENTS
Each year, from early January to mid February, youth from the Bokamoso Youth Centre in Winterveldt, South Africa come to the Washington, D.C. area as part of the Cultural Exchange and Performing Arts Program. While here they perform songs, dances, poetry, and tell their stories in a number of different locations. By early November we will post, on this page, the dates, times and venues for the Bokamoso performances. Between now and then we have noted an number of important dates related to events and holidays in South Africa. Check them out.

Please plan to join us at the Bokamoso Dream Brunch
The Bokamoso Dream Breakfast (now the Dream Brunch) gave birth to the Bokamoso Scholarship Program in 2008 and has since funded almost 400 scholarships for 250 Bokamoso youth. It is a wonderful way both to meet these youth and contribute invaluably to their futures. Money raised at last year’s breakfast paid for 30 scholarships; eligible students may receive more than one scholarship.
At the Brunch, we will experience first-hand the ripple effect of the exchange on both sides of the ocean as we hear how the youth’s relationships with each other have helped shape their lives. This year’s event will be interactive, song-filled and story-infused. It is family-friendly event, with an opportunity for children to interact with the Bokamoso youth in a music and dance workshop.
